Bellator heavyweight Brett Rogers picked up a TKO win against former foe Kevin Asplund at Bellator 71 last Friday.

Rogers is a heavy-handed brawler, but is working on his wrestling and BJJ, as he hopes to climb to the top of the Bellator heavyweight ranks.  Here is a recent interview he did after his victory against Asplund:

It’s interesting to hear Rogers discuss what it takes to get into the cage and fight, as many MMA fans have misconceptions about fighters.  Besides his TKO annihilation of Andrei Arlovski at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields in June 2009, Rogers has suffered losses against the better heavyweight fighters of MMA.

He has losses to Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem, and Josh Barnett on his resume, though all of those fighters are –or were – legitimate talents.  He had a lot of personal distractions, but I’m curious to see how he does long-term for Bellator.
